Criminal Defense

If you are facing criminal charges, the first thing to know is that you have rights. Whether you are facing drug possession or domestic violence charges, or if you got accused of assaulting someone else in your community, we can help protect your rights and make sure that the case gets resolved. We represent criminal defendants in cases of DUI and DWI, as well as those arrested on charges of drug possession, domestic violence, and assault.

You have the right to have a lawyer and a right to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. You also have the right to speak with an attorney without having your interview recorded or forced to give up your Miranda rights. Thus, you have the right not to answer questions if you don’t want to, or if you don’t understand them.

Criminal Cases

Utah enforces some of the United States’ toughest penalties for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol – including prescription drugs. If a medicine your doctor prescribed has an undue effect on you while you drive, you’re held accountable.

Further, it takes DUI/DWI more seriously than some states. It offers no opportunity for expunging a DUI/DWI from your record. Once that Class B misdemeanor hits your record, it stays there for your lifetime. Depending on the situation, even your first offense could get upgraded to a Class A misdemeanor.

If you have got charged for drug possession of marijuana, cocaine, heroin, or methamphetamine—we can reduce or dismiss your charges.

If you are facing domestic violence, we can help you. We provide consultation to discuss your case and explain.

As assault defense attorneys, we will work with you to build your case so that we can find the best evidence possible and present it to the prosecutor in a way that leads to your acquittal. We offer Utah’s top criminal defense. Contact us at Stevens & Gailey, P.C. for help with your criminal case.
